Syhunt Dynamic fully supports the scanning of IPv6 addresses. To scan an IPv6 target, remember to enclose the address in square brackets, eg:
You can configure login credentials in the Hosts screen. To get to this screen: switch to the Hosts sidebar, select or enter a target host and go to the Authentication tab.
If you need to scan links that are not referenced in any page, here is the procedure:
- Switch to the Hosts sidebar.
- Select or enter a target host.
- Use the Start URLs area in the General tab to add the unreferenced URLs.
Syhunt Dynamic will always start from the root (unless you have configured a specific base path).
Base Path in Syhunt Dynamic
The Syhunt Dynamic's server checks will be executed in the root folder unless the Base Path option is configured. The base path option allows the scanner to focus all its attention on a specific directory (eg, /~syhunt).
To set a base path, switch to the Hosts sidebar, enter or select a host, and you will get access to a new screen. The base path field is located in the General tab.
The base path option can also be used to limit the crawling. If you enable the "Limit crawling to Base Path" option, pages in the root of the server will be ignored and only the pages below the base path directory will be crawled.
Request & Response Logging
By default, Syhunt Dynamic only logs suspicious responses, test errors or tests that returned positive for the presence of vulnerabilities. Syhunt Dynamic packets are saved in the Rep/[session name]/Cache subfolder using the .pkt extension.
To enable the full request/response logging feature, see menu Advanced -> Reporting & Logging and go to the Logging tab. When enabled, the full log will be saved in the Logs folder under the name "Pkt[current date][time].log".
Note: The full log will usually contain a huge amount of data. Additional disk space may be required for this.
